Start with decisions, not boxes. Walk through the garage, basement, spare rooms and cupboards and mark items that do not belong in the next home. Compare large furniture with the new layout where you have reliable measurements. This is especially useful when downsizing: an item can be in good condition and still have no practical place after the move.
Give retained possessions a different physical location from material being reviewed for disposal. Label boxes clearly so a helper does not mistake packed belongings for unwanted contents. Set a deadline for donation or sale arrangements. If an item has no confirmed recipient by that deadline, reassess it honestly rather than leaving the disposal decision until the moving truck is waiting.
- Keep and pack for the next property.
- Rehome only when collection is arranged.
- Review special or restricted materials separately.
- List the approved items remaining for disposal.
Put the bin and moving truck on the same access sketch
A bin can make the clearout easier while making moving day harder if it occupies the only useful loading space. Draw a simple plan showing the driveway, front entrance, garage and the place where the moving vehicle will stop. Include any shared access or vehicle that must still come and go. Show the proposed bin position to the supplier before confirming delivery.
If the driveway is narrow, scheduling the clearout earlier may be more practical than trying to fit every vehicle on the property at once. Do not assume a bin can be placed on the road as a fallback. Clarington states that waste bins are not allowed to be stored on the road; boulevard situations need site-specific review. Resolve placement before relying on the rental in your moving schedule.
Separate bulky possessions from the dense leftovers
Furniture and loose household clutter may create a bulky pile, while old tiles or stored construction materials can add considerable weight without taking up much room. Tell Bin and Gone what is actually in the disposal group. Do not describe renovation debris as general moving rubbish. Appliances and electronics also need confirmation rather than automatic inclusion.
A hypothetical moving clearout might include a dismantled storage unit, unwanted household items and an old appliance. The storage and household material can be discussed as bin candidates, while the appliance should be identified separately for acceptance advice. Chemicals, hazardous materials and cinder blocks do not belong in the rental. Check official disposal information when an item needs another route, and do not leave unresolved material for the new occupant.
Allow for decisions that take longer than loading
The bin is useful once decisions have been made. It cannot decide which documents to retain, whether a family member wants a table or who owns a stored tool. Build those conversations into the preparation period. When several people are helping, appoint one person to approve the disposal pile and keep a written list of items that must not be removed.
The approved package includes seven days, but collection and property handover must still be coordinated directly. Ask about the actual delivery and pickup arrangements before tying them to a closing date. If you expect an extension, raise it before booking; no extra-day price is assumed. Keep essential access clear for both collection and the move, and do not add last-minute material that has not been approved.
Ask about the rental with your real dates in hand
The customer-loaded package is $563.87 CAD including 13% Ontario HST for the 1 ton minimum, seven days, delivery, pickup and fuel. Each additional ton is $226 including HST. Loading labour is not part of that package. If your move needs people to carry items from rooms, request a separate estimate for that work.
Call or text 289-356-0228 with your Orono location, preferred clearout period, moving day, proposed bin position and a list of the largest items. Explain whether the moving truck needs the same driveway space. You do not need a perfect inventory to begin the conversation, but these details make the next decision useful. A prepared website message still needs to be sent from your own app and does not reserve a truck.
Questions before you book
Should the bin arrive on moving day?
Not necessarily. Clearing unwanted possessions earlier may leave better access for the moving vehicle. Confirm both schedules and the placement before deciding.
Is a moving clearout bin also a packing or removal service?
No. Customer-loaded bin rental supplies the bin, delivery and collection under the approved package. Packing, carrying and crew loading are separate work.
Compare all five bin profiles, review the rental price, check material acceptance and plan delivery access.
